Not much happening today… I moved out of the Spa to another bungalow place called the Rose Garden just 2 places down the beach. I’ve had some mouse/rat activity the past 2 nights and I just thought of it as a sign to get out. The bungalows at the Rose Garden are nicer and bigger anyway and now that I’m not fasting I don’t really feel like I need to be at the Spa.
After I moved into my new home I decided to head into Chaweng for the day. I FINALLY found a good waxing place so I took care of that! Then I looked for a decent internet place where I could scan and upload photos to my site. I’ve been searching for the past 3-4 days and everywhere I go either does not have a scanner or they have one but it’s not installed or they have one but their scanning software sucks.
Well it paid to be patient because the place I had today had an awesome scanner PLUS Adobe Photoshop 6.0 PLUS Windows XP! It was truly a computer oasis. I spent all day in there – scanning in my photos and sizing them down before uploading. In case anyone is wondering how the site is being updated well basically I’m doing it all from here. I can access my site from any cyber cafe and enter the journal text and photos without any additional software or ftp program. That’s the beauty of it because that way I don’t need to carry a laptop. Anyway I’ve been pretty busy just trying to get caught up because the current version was not actually up and running until a month after I left. I’m still working on other parts of the site so if anyone has any suggestions on what they’d like to see please email me and let me know. Ok, time to eat

On the 15th day she ate again…
Yes, that’s right! It’s 8am and in just one short hour I will be permitted to eat a fresh papaya salad. Woo hoo!! Looking forward to it. I’ve had my final colema already this morning and now I just have to wait in between the last flora grow drink and the final step which is a flora grow injection (all to introduce friendly bacteria back into the system) and then I am home free!! Looking back it’s hard to believe that it’s been an entire 2 weeks since I’ve eaten!! Amazing. I am so glad that I did it. I’ve lost a total of almost 6 kilos (which is 12+ pounds) and beleive me most of that came from my colon!! What a great thing I’ve done for my body.
…So now it’s 8pm and I’n in the town of Lamai getting ready to watch Zoolander. All of the restaurants in town show movies every night to try to get more patrons and they all have bootleg copies of all the new movies so it’s pretty cool. Now that I’m not fasting I can actually stay out a bit late!
The food today has been WONDERFUL! I could actually feel the energy running to the tips of my fingers just minutes after eating the papaya. What a rush! Then I had a coconut banana pineapple shake, and sometime this afternoon I had some steamed cabbage rolls. (I should have stuck to fruit but I could not resist!) I have a total new appreciation for food.
So I’m off the fasting bit now everyone – thanks for being patient with the last 2 weeks of graphic entries. I’ve already had a few emails from friends saying “Enough with the Starbutts!!!!” and sending me “turdblaster” links…so yeah I know you’re all sick of it!!! Anyway I hope that maybe I have turned someone on to the idea of healing through fasting. If I can do it anyone can!

My first meal after 14 days of FASTING!!!

…Delicious fresh papaya with goat yogurt and bee pollen

Day #14. I am looking forward to eating tomorrow. I am SO glad this is the last day!! For the first time since the fast began I have been allowing myself to think about food and it’s been TORTURE all day.
Plus I had a bad day yesterday and that really off-set me. I somehow lost my bicycle lock. I don’t know if it fell off while riding or if someone stole it while I was on the phone in town. Either way it’s gone. And it’s a pretty serious problem when you consider the value of my bike and the lack of good locks available here. I was so upset. I traced my route into town back and forth 3 times looking for it – once by bike, once by foot, and once by motorbike with a guy who works here. No lock. No luck. What a complete bummer. I kept telling myself – at least it wasn’t the bike – but I was still upset over it.
So today I had to take a bus to Na Thon, all the way on the other side of the island, in an effort to find some type of lock. NOT what I felt like doing on the last day of my fast. I had envisioned a full day of relaxation with perhaps a 2-hour Thai massage to treat myself for what I had done to my body. Instead, I was on a 50-minute bus ride each way in a loud, noisy, smelly, busy port town dealing with lines in the post office, another scanner that didn’t work (still trying to scan photos in for the site), and just general annoyance in being there. And, maybe due to the stress, all I could see were the people eating – in restaurants, cafes, food stalls, etc., and all I could smell were the smells of delicious food. I felt like everyone in the town was eating except me! Torture. I finally found a crap lock which could probably be cut with a pair of scissors but it will have to do for now. All I can think about is a grilled cheese on whole grain bread with swiss cheese and tomato!! Ahhhhh!!!!!
