Time to ‘Cleanse and Purify Thyself’

Day #2 of the fast. It’s 4pm. Almost made it through 2 days already!! Getting ready for colema #2 of the day…
So yesterday I did quite well but it was only the first day. I had a wonderful Thai oil massage in the afternoon, then my first colema, and after that I went for a 40-minute walk on the beach. When I returned I decided to try the herbal steam room but first I did a dry skin brush. It felt so good to sweat out all those toxins!
When I woke up today it was raining quite hard so I rolled out of bed to have my first shake and then immediately went back to sleep (7am). I was feeling pretty lazy and did not do any meditation or yoga class today. I met a new girl, Tania, from Australia, who is also here on her own and just started her fast today. She seems pretty cool and normal so we spent some time chatting. They have a tv here with cable so I managed to watch some of CNN this afternoon. Now I will do this colema and then probably go for a walk on the beach with Ines, the German woman who also started on the same day as me.
A little more about what the heck it is I’m doing…The fasting program they run here is based on the program developed by Dr. Richard Anderson and his book ‘Cleanse and Purify Thyself’. They offer a one, three, and seven day fast. I have done the Dr. Anderson’s program before by myself back at home about 2 years ago after having had a lot of problems due to intestinal parasites. I became so frustrated with the approach that Western doctors have to treating people…
‘If it goes bad, we cut it out. If you’re sick take a drug. Pay no attention to what you eat or drink or other lifestyles habits; we’ll give you the quick-fix. And oh yeah, that’ll be $3000.00. Thank you. NEXT!’
Yeah so I found about this whole cleanse-fasting thing through my good friend Cathy back at home and she lent me Dr. Anderson’s book to read and I was convinced that I wanted to try a fast. I did and it was amazing. In almost 2 years the so-called ‘expert’ doctors could not solve my problem and in 6 weeks I healed myself with a change in diet and a 7-day fast that’cleaned’ out my system. Cathy also gave me an article about this place called the Spa in Thailand which runs the same program. So that is how I came here. I was so excited at the thought of being in a place surrounded by the support of other people fasting and to not be the only ‘freak’ doing it at home. I will definitely try to explain more about the program each day of my fast so people back home can actually understand what I’m doing and maybe (hopefully) even consider doing it themselves. I am certain that doing this program is positively the best thing you can do for your body, your health, and the quality of your life.
