Paradise found on the other side

I found the woods today. A reconnection to a place where I was just thinking I had longed to go! It happened by accident actually, when I decided to head up to the ‘Lookout Point’ on the island. What a great view from up there, about 500-600 feet up, looking down at the crystal-clear blue water around the island.
Going up was pretty standard since on this side of the mountain there are concrete steps the whole way up. But from the top I decided to go down to Ranti Bay which is a small beach only accesible by trail or by boat. The hike down was where I had my reconnection – just me and the rocks and the roots and tropical forest all around. No tourists. No ‘backpackers’ – well, there were a few but I took great pleasure in passing them ALL, both going up, down, and up and back down again. They hadn’t seen the likes of Gimpy before!!
I really enjoyed having that time to myself, away from the craziness of the tourist world. Ranti Bay was totally beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed a nice swim there before heading back up and over the mountain again.
A small-tail boat went by while I was in the water. I happened to notice the name of the boat.
It was ‘Jennifer’.
