Things I like about Koh Lanta…
December 8th, 2001 at 12:00am
Spent the day in recovery mode, trying to get over this cold. I was doing pretty well until I somehow managed to spend the entire evening chatting with another American I met here. Now I have completely lost my voice!
Let’s see, the day was spent eating fruit, collecting shells, sunbathing, swimming, collecting more shells, reading my book, and eating more fruit. I’m feeling less congested today so perhaps I will be ready to snorkle tomorrow…I have been anxiously awaiting my chance to see some fish.
A very nice evening I had with my new American friend – discussing everything from travel to family to being American in this unsure time in the world. How refreshing to find an intelligent mind in the midst of so many party-on’backpackers.’ There is hope for me yet to make positive connections on this journey…
Have I mentioned how wonderful the pineapple is here?
Some things I like about Ko Lanta:
There are more people reading books than there are drinking beer.
NOT over-run with ‘backpackers’.
Amazing shells to be collected.
Very chill atmosphere.
Very friendly local people.
Beautiful beach.
Excellent Thai/Indian food.
Great music playing at the Sanctuary.
Awesome sunsets.
