Mindful Shell Collecting 101

Trying to decide whether to stay here for a while longer or to move on…I really like it here and could definitely spend a month here no problem, BUT it is getting a bit more crowded every day and my fear is that it will turn into a zoo before too long and then I will be screwed.
Other options – go south, closer to Malaysia, go north to the Similian Islands, go back to Krabi. I have a sinking feeling that the closer I get to Christmas, the more difficult it will be to find accomodation in the south. Tomorrow (hopefully) I will decide.
Another nice day full of relaxation. I think I’m finally close to the end of this cold. I started to feel normal again today.
The shell collecting has been turning into a twice-daily routine…now I have narrowed my search to one exact type of shell. It is almost a form of meditation, walking slowly along the beach, putting all the other shells (thoughts) out of my mind, and keeping focused on this one type of shell (no thoughts). It looks like a fossil and is usually turned upside down making it difficult to identify easily. All the more reason why I chose that one to focus on – to keep the search challenging and interesting. It usually takes several minutes to actually get into it, but once I do it becomes instinctual and I can pick them out quickly and easily amidst the piles of other beautiful shells all around.
