Conquered by the beauty of Koh Lanta

Sometimes other people say it better…here’s one entry from the 2001 guestbook at the Sanctuary:

4.18.01

To Hassan and Caren and family-

‘We came.’
‘We saw.’
Now conquered
by the beauty of Koh Lanta.

Hours-days-weeks-calendars-time
of little use
as beautiful days followed each other
into magical nights.

When the Sun King
would ease into his ocean bed
and set the seas and skies
on fire, with colors from dreams

And the chattering songbirds
and people of Lanta
would be still.

And the Nations of different
colours and tongues
would become one family
under the cathedral roof
of the Sanctuary of
Hassan and Caren.

And the Sun King
will bless this house
with many colours for all time
and thus it shall be,

Another time,
‘We will come’
‘We will see’
and be conquered again

By the silken beauty
that is Thailand.
