Enjoying the sunset on Lanta

What a GREAT DAY!! The sun is back from it’s 3-day vacation and once again I am struck by the beauty and serenity all around me. This place is just so awesome!

This morning I went for my daily walk on the beach and collected more coral for the ‘garden’ outside my bungalow. Then I relaxed for awhile, read my book (now the 5th one I’ve read in the past 8 days), and then went up to the road to check email and update the site.

Got an email from Brent, one of the American guys I had met on Pha-Ngan, saying he just got back to Bangkok after a month in Burma and that he is heading down to Lanta tomorrow! I am so excited to meet up again and catch up on our last 4 weeks of adventures.

Last night I made a new friend at the Sanctuary – Nick from England. We both sat down to watch the sunset and FIVE HOURS later we were STILL sitting there talking!! I guess you could say we had a lot in common. Anyway he went to another island today for a dive trip so I’ll see him later probably.

Now I am back at the Sanctuary, getting ready to eat my daily lunch of spicy green papaya salad and naan bread. It’s so good and I have not gotten sick of it yet! Then some sun, swimming, snorkling, shell collecting, reading, chatting, eating, drinking, watching the sunset – ahhhh, LIFE IS GOOD!!!
