I think I am more tan now than I have ever been in my life

Another beautiful day on Lanta. I think I am more tan now than I have ever been in my life. Books being read, friends being made, relaxation being had everywhere in between…

My friend Brent arrived yesterday afternoon, and although we didn’t toast to any Bang Lassis, we did have a pretty nice welcoming for him. He was quite stressed from the overnight bus ride from Bangkok to get here so I’m sure he was relieved and happy to get to the beach. We found a nice spot to sit and enjoy his first Lanta sunset and then spent a few hours just catching up on travels and stories from the last 4 weeks.

More good music and interesting conversation last night at the Sanctuary with me, Brent, and Nick. Now that we all have so much time to read the topic of good books always seems to come up. Brent will probably stay here until New Years and then he is off to either India or Sri Lanka. Nick is leaving in just 2 days to catch a flight from Singapore to Sydney. And me, well I’m here for now… maybe another 3 weeks, and then, well I’m not sure! Maybe Laos, maybe Sri Lanka, perhaps straight to New Zealand. Don’t need to worry about it too much right now anyway.

…Just spoke with Martin – seems like he had another late night again – up’til 4am, and of course running up and down the beach naked with the headlamp on, chasing crabs as usual. Such a funny guy!
