1 Chang, 2 Chang, 4 Chang, 6 Chang….

It’s a slow morning today…too many Chang last night…head feeling dizzy…memory unclear. Hmmmm. I guess I can blame it on the rain, yeah. Yesterday was a cloudy, rainy, cool day and I spent the afternoon playing cards with Brent, and well somewhere somehow we started drinking large Changs – 1 Chang, 2 Chang, 4 Chang, 6 Chang…and on and on it went throughout the evening and well into the night. Couldn’t think of a better way to spend a rainy day actually.
We all wound up at the Reggae Bar – Martin, Nick, Brent, the Scottish girls (L.B.’s – aka Lying Bastards – long story) and me. Then I was on the dance floor and after that the memories become decidedly more unclear. It was a good time. Hopefully a Thai breakfast of vegetable fried rice will help the recovery process.
So Nick is gone today – he’s set off back to the mainland for a 24-hour bus ride to Singapore and then a flight to Sydney. I don’t envy that hectic plan but he’ll be fine. Always mixed emotions when you meet someone cool and enjoy hanging out and then they’re gone…one of the best perks of travelling is making friends and meeting people but the flip side is that everyone is always moving. I’ll miss hanging out with Nick but who knows…maybe we’ll meet up again in New Zealand or Australia for a little Lanta reunion party.
Today looks to be another cloudy day although there are a few patches of blue sky so maybe it will burn off. Think I’ll go for a walk (try to burn off the excess alcohol in my system) and then work on my book today. I keep forgetting actually that tomorrow is Christmas Eve!
