Last few days on Lanta

I am leaving Ko Lanta in 2 days… yes, that’s right, the vacation is over. Time to get back to travelling. I can hardly believe it myself! Sometimes I even thought I’d be spending my entire trip collecting shells and working on the garden. But I AM making the break. I’ll be heading to Bangkok to arrange my next visa and then in another week or so I’ll be entering another country…

I must admit I’ve had some nice options to toss around over the past few days. One that really had me thinking was to crew on a yacht heading to Africa. I saw the posting in the bookstore when I was buying the second Harry Potter book the other day. I sent the guy an email and basically he said ok meet me here in 4 days and off we’ll go. Only catch is that I really don’t want to be heading to Africa – I’ve still got some more of SE Asia to check out and then there’s New Zealand and Australia. Oh well… I hope to have that type of option again when I’m further along the trip and am willing to go anywhere but for now I’m still working out where I want to go.

So I’ll be sure to enjoy my last few days on Lanta. I have to admit that it’s getting more and more crowded by the day so it will be good to get out of the south and the high season. I think every backpacker in SE Asia is in Southern Thailand right now. So a few weeks somewhere else and then perhaps I’ll come back to the south to sweep through all the places I haven’t been.
