Vipassana Meditation Day 3
September 19th, 2003 at 12:00am
Doin’ ok. Sitting meditation is very difficult sometimes. Up to 20 minutes now, tomorrow will be 25, next day 30. Walking meditation is much easier.
As for the other foreigners, 2 or 3 are taking it seriously, and the rest (about 20) all skip the 6am breakfast and stay in their rooms most of the day. When not doing that, they are talking to each other. I seem to be handling the silence much better than I thought I would. Thoughts are starting to settle a bit.
Yesterday was Buddha Day, and there was a ceremony last night with all the nuns and monks chanting for 1.5 hours, meditation, and then lighting candles and incense and walking around the chedi in silence.
