Day of Non-violent Protest against George W. Bush
October 19th, 2003 at 12:00am
I was one of only a handful of foreigners who attended this rally put together by the students of Chulalongkorn University. Together we protested against Bush, against war, against terrorism, against slave labor in China, and against the American agenda on the world. It was a very peaceful event with the gatherers sitting on a small piece of grass on the corner of Sukhumvit Road, and thankfully the 50 or so policemen did not use force as they threatened to in the newspapers. For those of you who didn’t know, ‘President’ Bush and many other heads of state were in Bangkok at this time for the APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation) summit. I can’t go into any more detail about the rally than that, because let?s face it, we don’t live in a democracy anymore, and I don’t want the feds making my life miserable. But the giant poster of Bush in a Superman costume, wearing swastiska shorts and holding missles in each hand, well that was priceless!

US Troops out of Iraq
Stop Bush
And they were threatening to use force on this peaceful crowd!
