Samui sea turtle

I rode the bicycle into Chaweng and back today, and there are definitely a lot of steep hills on that stretch! It felt great to get some exercise though. I got even more at the gym at Central, thanks Katrina for the great tip to join there. What a bargain ($50 USD/month) to work out at the 5-star hotel’s gym which is an all-glass building right next to the sea. Total luxury. And I have access to the pool all day too! So I go back to my cheapie bungalow at night, but at least during the day I can live like a queen.
The other thing of interest today was the sea turtle rescue at the Long Island resort. The poor fella got caught in a big mess of fishing nets and wires, and was washed up on shore all tangled but still alive. The Thai staff at Long Island and I helped to cut the nets free and man, that turtle was so happy to get out of there and finally swim back into the sea. I was a bit worried that the Thais were going to cook him up for dinner, but luckily they let him go. That was the first (and probably only) sea turtle I have ever seen on Ko Samui.

My secret five-star life at the Central Resort

If you dont like this pool…

you can swim in this one instead!
